Event Details

The Michigan Avenue Garden Tour is a relaxing stroll down Michigan Avenue, taking place this summer as part of Greater North Michigan Avenue Association’s A Magnificent Summer Campaign.  Beginning at the Drake Hotel with an orientation including refreshments at The Palm Court, and ending at The Terrace Rooftop, at the Conrad Chicago Hotel. The two hour tour includes a fun, informative and entertaining history about the gardens of the avenue and the art of gardening. 


-Famous gardens and gardening traditions in Chicago

-Rosenbaum Holocaust Memorial Garden

-Fragrance and product sampling at participating shops

-Victor Skrebneski Garden

-Natural Rock Garden

 

The goal of the Michigan Avenue Garden Tour is to introduce visitors, residents and guests to The Magnificent Mile, and celebrate the love and passion of gardening. The two hour tour explores garden styles, design and social history, and also includes time for shopping.

Tours are given each Thursday beginning July 14 – August 25, 2011, at 2:00 pm.  Guests will meet in the lobby of the Drake Hotel, 140 East Walton Place, Chicago, Illinois 60611.  The fee for the tour is $50 per person, and tickets must be purchased in advance at:
